THE INN AT UNION PIER

The Inn at Union Pier offers 16 guest rooms across three buildings, each decorated with Danish and Swedish antiques. The inn houses the largest collection of functioning antique Swedish fireplaces in the U.S., with 13 kakelugn units spread throughout the property. Select rooms include private balconies, whirlpools, or private patios overlooking the garden or courtyard.

Complimentary bicycles are available for guests to explore the scenic surroundings and nearby towns. A daily wine hour with popcorn is held in the Great Room, and fresh cookies are offered each afternoon. The adults-only policy and quiet grounds create a setting suited for relaxation without disturbances.

A full breakfast featuring seasonal, locally sourced ingredients is served each morning by the on-site chef. The menu changes daily and includes options like banana pancakes, french toast, and egg burritos with fresh fruit. Special dietary requests-including gluten-free meals-can be accommodated when communicated in advance.

The inn sits 200 feet from a Lake Michigan beach access point, with no stairs required to reach the sand. Beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels are provided for guests at no additional cost. Outdoor facilities include a hot tub, outdoor fireplace, picnic area, sun terrace, and a garden with hammocks and Adirondack chairs.

The inn is located within walking distance of the Red Arrow Roadhouse restaurant and Whistlestop market. New Buffalo with its shops, breweries, and restaurants is a short drive or bike ride away via the provided bicycles. The Galien River County Park and Acorn Theatre are within 10 minutes by car for live performances and nature trails.
